The Rental Area Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of multiple rental locations throughout the Southern Utah region. This role ensures operational excellence by driving safety compliance, maximizing productivity, developing team capabilities, and fostering a culture of leadership and accountability. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a passion for team development, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety & Compliance:
- Champion a safety-first culture by enforcing company safety policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and incident reviews.
- Lead safety training initiatives and ensure all team members are properly certified and trained.
Operational Excellence:
- Monitor and improve KPIs related to fleet utilization, turnaround time, and service quality.
- Ensure consistent execution of rental processes, inventory control, and equipment readiness.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead, coach, and mentor rental staff.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide actionable feedback.
- Promote a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Training & Onboarding:
- Deliver training programs for new hires and ongoing employee development.
- Ensure all team members are cross-trained and equipped to handle multiple responsibilities.
- Track training completion and maintain compliance with company standards.
Customer Service & Relationship Management:
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through timely service and clear communication.
- Resolve escalated customer issues and support local teams in building strong client relationships.
- Collaborate with sales and service teams to align operational support with customer needs.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in rental and service operations.
- 2+ years of leadership experience managing multi-site teams.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and operational best practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with computers,
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to travel within assigned territory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience in the equipment rental, service, and construction industry, with a strong understanding of operational workflows, customer service standards, and safety compliance.
- Familiarity with rental management systems, fleet tracking technologies, and maintenance scheduling.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with field teams, vendors, and clients to ensure timely delivery and service of equipment.
