Summary/Objective
The Medical Staff Secretary assists the Compliance Lead by performing various assigned functions including coordination of the medical staff, and credentialing. This position requires the employee to work independently and to maintain compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements.
Essential Functions
Read, interpret, and assist in preparation of complex documents such as memoranda of understanding, Medical Staff Committee Bylaws, plans of correction and other documents as required by state regulatory agencies
Read and interpret written materials such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and policy and procedure manuals
Develop and/or update applicable governing documents (bylaws, credentialing policies and/or procedures, etc.) that support and direct organizational practices and ensure compliance
Monitor and/or report sanctions, adverse information and complaints for all practitioners/providers to an appropriate Medical Staff member for review for action
Organize, create agendas, and maintain official meeting records for the Medical Staff Committee, Peer Review Committee, and other sub-committees of the Medical Staff
Work with administration, management, Medical Staff, and legal counsel to assure compliance with the District’s Governing Board and Medical Staff bylaws, Policy, Procedure, Protocol, accreditation standards, and Federal and State regulations.

Requirements
Required Education and Experience
Computer literacy.
Minimum three (3) years relevant experience in legal, secretarial, medical staff, or related field.
Bachelor's degree. Relevant experience may substitute.
Preferred Education and Experience
Background and training in healthcare medical staff support strongly preferred.
CHC, CPCS, CPMSM, or similar preferred.
