What You'll Do:

We are looking for a Product Manager to join our Dental Networks and Subsidiaries product family within Workplace Benefits. You'll partner with other product managers, stakeholders, engineers, external partners, and other internal areas while demonstrating curiosity, open-mindedness, and motivation to gain exposure and experience in all phases of the product lifecycle. You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Understand and execute on product strategy in alignment with Principal’s enterprise strategic imperatives and business strategies
  • In partnership with other product management team members, identify opportunities and problems to solve. Lead discovery efforts within the product team and drive outcomes in collaboration with technology team members.
  • Be responsible for parallel discovery and delivery in partnership with other product management team members
  • Ensure successful product delivery in collaboration with technology team members and other partners, including ensuring the team has context to solve problems effectively and efficiently
  • Collaborate with other product team members to break down work effectively, release frequently, and deliver value with quality
  • Collaborate on story creation and refinement, definition and success criteria, prioritization, and that the story will achieve the desired customer or business outcome.
  • Effectively collaborate and communicate with stakeholders and other partners, and build trusting relationships
  • Monitor and communicate health, release impacts, and progress against objectives
  • Foster curiosity and forward-thinking by challenging the status quo, encouraging innovation, and being approachable, while influencing and identifying solutions to continuously improve product management practices
Who You Are:
  • 2+ years of business, technology, or product management experience; or equivalent demonstrated through the following: work experience, military experience, or education.
  • 1+ year working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with engineering teams and stakeholders
  • Experience with strategic thinking, decision making, and managing multiple workloads and/or competing priorities in a professional context.
  • Experience with stakeholder and relationship management
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading, influencing, and negotiating in a professional team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging diverse perspectives and using data to inform actions and decisions.
  • Prior experience in a product environment and exposure to the Product Manager role.

Salary Range Information:Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.Salary Range:$81900 - $128000 / yearTime Off Program:Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.Pension Eligible:YesAdditional Information:

Work Environments 

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
