About Holy Cross Services

Holy Cross Services (HCS) is a faith-based nonprofit grounded in Catholic and Judeo-Christian values. Since 1948, we have been committed to serving Michigan’s most vulnerable children, adults, and families with dignity, compassion, and excellence. Our mission is to bring hope, promote change, and help people live free, healthy, and productive lives—regardless of their religious or non-religious beliefs.

We are proud to be a trauma-informed, inclusive, and values-driven organization, guided by our core principles of Trust, Respect, Responsibility, Care, and Connection and our commitment to Justice, Advocacy, Dignity, Excellence, and Service (JADES).

Equal Opportunity

HCS is an equal-opportunity employer. We hire and promote based on merit, competence, and qualifications, and we do not discriminate on the basis of any factor protected by law.

Faith-Based Commitment

As a Catholic/Judeo-Christian organization, our mission is deeply rooted in faith. However, we serve and employ people of all backgrounds and beliefs. While we don’t require staff to be Catholic, we do ask that all employees respect and support our mission, values, and faith-based foundation in their professional roles. Religious participation is never a condition of service or employment.

We welcome your application if you share our passion for service and meet the minimum job qualifications—even if you don’t meet every preferred.

Holy Cross Services further recognizes that deep systemic inequities disproportionately overrepresent children of color and children who identify as LGBTQ within the child welfare system yet underrepresent these populations within the child welfare workforce. Because we believe the people served must be centered in the work we do, applicants with lived experience in the child welfare system or homelessness, BIPOC applicants, and applicants who identify as LGBTQ are strongly encouraged to apply.

Additionally, Holy Cross Services acknowledges the studies indicating applicants of color and women applicants may be less likely than others to apply for a job without meeting 100% of the preferred qualifications. If you are passionate for this work and meet the minimum requirements, your application is welcomed.
