Description

The Bone & Joint Center in Bismarck is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant.  The Bone & Joint Center provides employees with a positive team-based atmosphere where we value your contributions as an employee and recognize the needs of your family.

· Obtains, verifies, and records health history of patients.

· Obtains and verifies consent forms.

· Maintain an efficient, organized clinic flow.

· Assists in some clinical procedures.

· Transports patients from one area to another.

· Fulfills patient care responsibilities including scheduling and patient flow, assisting patients for exam preparation, charting, and relaying instructions to patients.

· Coordinate patient care with ancillary personnel (physical therapy, occupational therapy, orthotics and prosthetics, appointment scheduling, radiology, surgery scheduling, home health, home infusion and wound care).

· Fulfills environmental responsibilities including restocking and cleaning exam/procedure rooms to maintain infection control, cleaning sterilizer according to scheduled maintenance program and keeping appropriate records.

· Adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and quality control methods

· Educates and encourages patients, and when appropriate, supervises family/significant others in implementing best practices for patients’ condition. Inspires patient to become active participants in their own healthcare-related behavior and provides patient education materials related to diagnosis, treatment plans, and need for follow-up care, for use in promoting wellness.

· Assists with medical supply inventory and ordering.

· Able to support multiple physicians / Advanced Practice Providers.

· CMA may travel with the physician to a variety of satellite clinics. 

· CMA makes sure the necessary supplies are available for satellite clinic needs.

This is a full time position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.   The hourly pay range is $17.50 - $24.00 / hour.  No call, no holidays, no weekends.

Qualifications


  • Knowledge of orthopaedic anatomy and terminology.
  • Knowledge of common orthopaedic conditions and surgeries.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with other medical providers and ancillary personnel.
  • Able to manage stressful situations.
  • Maintains Required Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
