Job Title: Assembler
Department: Martinson, Wells Seals/Caps, Air Volume Controls, Heat Shrinks, Yard Hydrants, Well Points, Filters
Reports To: Plant Superintendent
SUMMARY
Performs repetitive bench assembly operations to produce products such as pitless adapters, well seals, well caps, air volume controls, heat shrink kits, yard hydrants, well points, filters and other manufactured items by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Places parts in specified relationship to each other.
Operates hand tools to fasten parts together.
Tends machines, such as arbor presses, to perform force fitting or fastening operations on assembly line.
Operates bagging equipment for packaging.
Works at different work stations as production needs require.
Reviews incoming returned materials for condition and suitability for repair or recondition. Performs repair work and reconditioning, preparing assemblies for return stock or return to customers.
Maintains and records accurate count of work pieces produced and personal hourly attendance data.
Practices safe work habits, maintains workplace in good order, and wears issued personal protective equipment in the workplace.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or WORK EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
COMPETENCE, AWARENESS AND TRAINING
Competence, awareness, and training for probationary employees will be assessed by the “New Employee Checklist,” and the evaluation conducted at 60 days, along with other training as needed. Competence, awareness, and training for regular employees will be assessed when annual evaluations are conducted, along with other measurements in accordance with the area the employee is assigned to.
Regular hours: Monday - Friday 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM
