Medical Receptionist

Position Summary:

The Medical Receptionist is responsible for coordinating the daily administration of doctors, staff, visitors, and patients. This position will play a vital role in patient quality care. This is a full-time position.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Take part in all agency sponsored training programs and team meetings required by supervisor. 
• Participate in administrative duties of HealthPort clinic, including all documentary and regulatory requirements, as assigned by supervisor. 
• Verify patient insurance coverage and authorizations when a patient arrives for an appointment.
• Collect co-pays and payments from clients. Provide all necessary data for billing.  
• Maintain total confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA law, CARF accreditation standards and Maryland State Regulations. 
• Cover the front desk as scheduled; assure welcoming first impression. 
• Schedule client appointments as required; maintain updated scheduling calendar. 
• Other duties as assigned by the Medical Office Manager. 

Qualifications, Educations and Experience: 

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in office management and administration.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; highly competent computer applications, and experience using Electronic Health Records. 
• Medical office experience that includes verifying patient insurance information, multitasking and prior scheduling experience.
