About the Department
Glenville State University, member of the NCAA Division II Mountain East Conference, is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Assistant Wrestling Coach.
Position Duties
- Assist the head coach with everyday tasks within the program.
- Recruitment of qualified student-athletes at a high level.
- Help with team fundraising projects.
- Oversee P-Card for wrestling.
- Help make practice plans and coach practices.
- Coach individual practice sessions throughout season.
- Help with OPC and weight management for wrestlers.
- Oversee travel, food, logistics for team trips.
- Help assist head coach in recruiting transfer portal.
- Oversee team study hall.
- Mentor young men on and off the mat successfully.
- Manage charity events and community outreach events.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Background in wrestling coaching/playing and operations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to function in a service- and team-oriented environment
- Basic computer and word processing skills and proficiency in Microsoft 365
- Excellent leadership skills
