We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Research Scientist to join our defense technology team. A successful candidate will focus on the development of materials, technologies, and strategies to improve radio frequency (RF) materials performance. This role involves working closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop cutting-edge solutions that enhance the resilience and protection of various systems for improved electromagnetic survivability.
Responsibilities:Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on materials to identify electromagnetic effects.
- Development and analysis of next generation materials for RF performance.
- Perform RF antenna design, numerical modeling, data acquisition, and system integration.
- Develop advanced electromagnetic environment simulation tools and data acquisition systems.
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists from different disciplines to integrate technologies into existing and new systems.
- Utilize computational modeling and simulations to predict the performance of RF materials and technologies.
- Analyze experimental and simulation data to guide the development and optimization of RF materials and technologies.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and publication to communicate research findings.
Required Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of related experience with a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry or a related field or equivalent work experience with a focus on defense system resilience and protection.
- Secret clearance required. Ability to acquire a TS/SCI clearance.
- Proven experience in research and development related to design, testing, and modeling RF materials, environments, and systems.
- Ability to demonstrate a strong knowledge of the physical principles underlying RF interactions with materials.
- Familiarity with computational modeling and simulation tools used in the study of RF materials and systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of advanced materials and coatings for system survivability.
- Experience with MIL-STD testing.
