Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Gatehouse Attendant to support our operations in Plattsburgh, NY. This role is essential to maintaining the security, accuracy, and efficiency of our yard operations. The Gatehouse Attendant is responsible for controlling vehicle access, verifying documentation, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Candidates must be dependable, detail-oriented. Adherence to company policies—including attendance, conduct, and our Drug-Free Workplace Policy—is critical to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify driver credentials and documentation prior to granting yard access
• Monitor and record all inbound and outbound vehicle activity
• Communicate with internal departments regarding deliveries and visitors
• Enforce safety procedures and maintain situational awareness at all times
• Maintain accurate logs and documentation using basic computer systems
• Represent the company professionally when interacting with drivers and guests
• Remain alert and focused during extended or repetitive shifts

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in transportation, logistics, or security
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain focus over long periods
• Basic computer proficiency for data entry and communication
• Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
• Must wear steel-toe footwear while on duty
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as needed
• Flexibility to work both day (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) and night (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) shifts

Compensation & Schedule

• Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
