Job Summary: Performs first piece, in-process inspection, final inspection, and LPAs (layered process audit) throughout the operations process to monitor quality and standard work follow up.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read and follow written instructions and prints.
- Verify gauges and measuring tools for accuracy.
- Use micrometers, calipers, height stands, thread gauges and other measuring tools to verify part conformity to print.
- Conduct first piece and final inspection and record the data on the inspection sheet.
- Perform random in-process inspections and 100% inspection as needed.
- Utilize a crane to lift products weighing over 50 pounds.
- Support the Company’s quality management program.
- Maintain the calibration schedule and verify tools are up to date with calibration.
- Print and update inspections sheets as needed, based on the dimensions from prints and revision levels.
- Record evaluations into the system from the Service Department.
- Execute LPAs, as directed by Quality Supervisor.
- Execute Internal Auditing to the ISO9001 Standards, as directed by Quality Supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and organized quality staging area and office.
- Attend DMM (Daily Management Meeting) in lieu of Quality Supervisor, when needed.
- Sets the highest ethical standards for self and others.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years of QA experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and understand prints.
- Proficient with the use of measuring tools (Such as but not limited to micrometers, calipers, height stands, thread gauges) to inspect parts.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite of products.
- Familiarity with ERP system (Oracle preferred).
- Good verbal and written communication and listening skills.
- Previous forklift experience preferred.
- Must be detail oriented.
Physical Requirement:
- Visual acuity for detailed work.
- Regularly required to stand, bend, twist, use hands and fingers.
- Regularly required to lift products which weigh up to 35 pounds and move materials using a pallet jack or forklift.
Work Environment:
- Must be able to work within a no air conditioning shop environment.
- The noise level in the work environment is normal for manufacturing.
- Safety shoes and safety glasses are required.
