Join our team as a Respiratory Therapist within our Respiratory Therapy department at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego. Use your technical skills and experience to help our team in this exciting and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has a thirst for knowledge and is eager to grow within the Scripps Health family.

The Respiratory Therapist, in collaboration with other caregivers:

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates actions for respiratory care.
  • Performs all technical diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to respiratory care and other core responsibilities necessary to maintain the flow of patient care and comfort in the unit.
  • Responds to critical situations.
  • Utilizes computer systems in performing position duties.
  • Adheres to Hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Participates in Quality Control, preventative maintenance, and performance improvement activities.

Required:

  • Current California RCP license
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Enjoys working with the public
  • Must be able to speak, read, and follow instructions in English
  • Technically competent in the department skills inventory
  • Computer literate

Preferred:

  • Graduate of one or two year AMA School of Respiratory Care
  • Prefer one or more years acute care experience
  • NICU experience
