About Us
Capital Kids Dentistry, led by Dr. Jessica Rubin, provides comprehensive pediatric dental services—from infants’ first visit through college age, including care for children with special needs. Our services include preventive, restorative & cosmetic dentistry, laser dentistry (Solea), interceptive orthodontics, sedation dentistry, and emergency care. We emphasize conservative treatments, education, and preventive care to establish a positive foundation for lifelong oral health.
Schedule
Part-time: Wednesdays (8 AM–4 PM) and Fridays (8 AM–2 PM)

Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive oral evaluations, cleanings, sealants, fluoride treatments, x‑ray interpretation, and recall care.
Provide restorative care: composite fillings, crowns (including NuSmile® zirconia), SDF, pulpotomy/pulpectomy as needed.
Offer laser dentistry (Solea) and sedation care – nitrous oxide primarily; coordinate with anesthesiologists as require.d
Screen and intercept early orthodontic development when appropriate
Manage dental emergencies: trauma, infections, pain, extractions as needed
Educate families on oral hygiene, diet, and preventive practices
Create a gentle, fun, and supportive environment using behavior modification techniques such as Tell‑Show‑Do, positive reinforcement, modeling, distraction, etc.
Requirements & Qualifications
DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school
Completion of pediatric dental residency (2–3 years)
Board‑eligible or Board‑certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry preferred
Washington, DC dental license in good standing
Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
Experience with sedation and laser dentistry (Solea) is a plus
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; exceptional with children and families
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, child‑focused, collaborative clinical environment
