Job Summary:
The Casthouse Scheduler will be responsible for creating, modifying, maintaining, and communicating production center schedules that balance throughput and delivery while ensuring continuous inventory flow through all areas of responsibility.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Create production schedules for the Ingot Cast House
- Order purchased ingot, set plans to optimize DPW Cast House and supplement where needed. Communicate with vendors to ensure specifications are maintained and delivery targets are achieved.
- Regularly interact with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, SCM, and bargaining unit employees
- Work as part of the SCM Team and use human performance concepts and standardized work to reduce inventory and flow times while maintaining 95% delivery to external customers
- Become a Quinitq super user for the department. Work with IT for improvements and troubleshooting
- Create and maintain items in Oracle.
- Collaborate with Quality and Operations to optimize schedules for production, cost, and recovery.
- Provide feedback to downstream SCM/Operations on casting and purchased ingot delivery performance.
Also note:
- While this job is primarily dayshift, periodic weekend and evening work may be required.
- Relocation is NOT provided for this position.
Qualifications
You have:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Exceptional Candidates also have:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- 2 years scheduling and/or Supply Chain Management experience in manufacturing
- 5 years in manufacturing environment
- Experience working with and building successful working relationships with a broad range of individuals and functions both inside and outside the organization
- Work experience with principles and concepts of Lean Manufacturing used for achieving business results
- Experience with inventory management concepts and forecasting
- Basic understanding of different aluminum alloy compositions
- Working knowledge of procurement and shipment processes
- Excellent problem-solving skills with "out of the box" thinking
- Experience working in a union environment
