Job Summary:
Completes repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under supervision
We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (San Leandro, CA). will make an impact in the following ways:

- Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
- Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
- Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
- Maintain own tools
Responsibilities
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics
- Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
- Demonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources.
- Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level.
- Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts.
- Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software
Qualifications
Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing variety of fuel systems - diesel and natural gas
Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing variety of on and off highway applications.
Open to New Power such as electric vehicle systems
DOT required to meet FTA requirements
CDL preferred but not required
DOT
- A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
- This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
Experience:
Minimal level of work shop experience required
Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
