Starting Pay: $16 - $18.50 per hour (full pay scale is $16-$22)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8AM-4PM (40 hrs per week)

Occasional weekend availability is required

We’re looking for compassionate, energetic team members to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in living their fullest, most vibrant lives. This full-time position blends caregiving with hands-on teaching of motor skills, employment preparation, and daily life skills. You’ll also accompany clients on community outings to the museum, movies, bowling, parks, and more! No experience or certifications are required! On-the-job training is provided.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Assist clients with activities of daily living including bathroom use and hygiene
• Support client employment training and job coaching (+$1 per hour when job coaching)
• Provide safe, respectful, and compassionate care
• Document client progress accurately on a computer
• Follow safety and emergency protocols
• Use adaptive equipment and transport clients as needed (Company Vehicle provided)
• Plan and accompany clients on community outings and activities

Important Skills:

• Basic computer skills (Typing, email, printer/copier). Computer is used daily for client documentation.
• Strong communication in English (written, verbal) and teamwork skills
• Ability to remain calm in a chaotic environment.
• Punctuality and organization

Requirements

• Must be over the age of 18 years old
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test
• Must pass a pre-employment driving records screening
• Must have a valid driver's license that is insurable by HPI's auto insurance provider (Driving Required Position)
• Must pass a pre-employment background check by Oregon DHS
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal)

Physical Demands

Position is active in nature. Must be able to monitor and observe the activities of program participants. Regularly move about or position self to supervise and interact with participants at their level. Occasionally lift, transport, position, push/pull or move up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques. Must be sufficiently mobile and possess a range of motion to perform repetitive standing, walking, balancing, stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, sitting on the floor, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and twisting. Ability to react quickly to the physical actions of program participant. Administrative and supervisory activities will require ability to operate keyboard-driven equipment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Sufficiently mobile to attend activities and meetings within the Umatilla County. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
