BICO Drilling Tools, Inc. is a Global manufacturer and service provider of standard and customized drilling equipment including PD Drilling Motors, Thru-Tubing Motors, PBL Bypass Subs and Jetting Tools, Non-Mag Collars, Drilling Jars, Shock Absorbers, and Even Wall® Power Sections. 


POSITION SUMMARY

Supervises and coordinates with management and production supervisors to ensure the safe and proper operation of all the facilities equipment and infrastructure. Scheduling the activities of the maintenance technician staff in their daily routines of maintaining the company’s manufacturing equipment as well as the buildings and grounds. 


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages maintenance department.

Abides by and enforces the company’s policies for all maintenance employees.

Supports and encourages the maintenance employees in order to maintain department morale and develops  

a strong and positive work relationship.

Delegates, oversees, and takes part in, the completion of the equipment preventative maintenance work orders and all other maintenance activities.

Oversees that all jobs are processed, documented and examined fully after repairs, replacements and installations for safety and quality control. 

Promptly responds to equipment failures, trouble shoot and repair, in order to return equipment to service.

Documents problems, trouble shooting technique, repair procedure, and result in order to educate fellow 

maintenance employees should the circumstance repeat.

Completes all applicable paper work for the department as necessary.

Works closely with purchasing agents to track and accrue the repair parts and supplies for facility.

Manages spare parts inventory and maintenance budget.

Identifies opportunities for process improvements and equipment upgrades. 

Assists with the training of Maintenance Technicians 

Other duties as assigned


Requirements

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Due to the nature of the work, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is sometimes at a risk of electrical shock while trouble shooting a piece of equipment. Once the problem has been diagnosed all energy sources to the machine are to be locked out and tagged out according to OSHA and company policies before repairs are attempted. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions/hot or cold, occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. There could be areas where the employee could be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, higher than normal noise levels, and vibration. 


REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 5 years of experience in one or more maintenance trades.

Background in managing personnel is required.

Experience in planning and scheduling work priorities, materials, and available man hours.

3-5 years maintenance experience.

Must be experienced and have a strong understanding in all following areas: HVAC, Pneumatic Equipment, Hydraulic power systems, electrical wiring up to 480 volt and computer controlled mechanical systems.

Able to provide service and repair to the equipment, building and grounds as required.

Able to operate material moving equipment (forklift, crane) 

Strong “hands-on” mechanical aptitude.  

Valid drivers license and/or record that conforms to company requirements.

Must be US citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States of America and able to travel outside the US as may be required. 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  •  Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and components, up to 25 pounds 
  •  Operate basic office equipment, such as a keyboard, mouse, copier/printer/scanning machine 
  •  Sit and/or stand for long periods of time, up to 8-10 hours a day 
  •  Walk/travel to production areas while wearing appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), which at a minimum includes safety glasses, steel toe shoes/boots and other PPE
