About the Department
Person County Government is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and motivated Social Worker II for the Work First Family Assistance Unit to join our Department of Social Services. This essential role focuses on evaluating the applicant's eligibility for Work First Family Assistance (WFFA) and makes redeterminations of eligibility. This position will then provide Work First Employment Services(WFES) to the recipient if required. This position serves as an advocate, facilitator, information and referral source, linking the client and agency as well as other agencies.

The starting salary will be determined with consideration given to both the candidate's educational background and relevant work experience.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record per County policy.
This is a non-exempt position working 37.5 hours weekly/1950 hours annually.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution;
- bachelor's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience;
- bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years directly related experience;
- or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record per County policy.
