PURPOSE:
Lead a dedicated team of Licensing and Training Specialists on the Out-of-Home Care team, driving the success of the foster care licensing process. This leadership role is pivotal in establishing and growing a diverse, supportive community of foster homes across Manatee, Sarasota, and Desoto counties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Team Empowerment and Growth: Champion a team culture focused on excellence, innovation, and accountability. Hire, mentor, and develop team members, fostering a supportive environment that values continuous learning and professional development.
• Strategic Expansion: Lead efforts to increase the number of stable, high-quality foster homes by overseeing training and licensing processes.
• Quality Assurance: Oversee the home study review and licensure approval process, ensuring comprehensive and sensitive assessment of prospective foster families.
• Policy and Compliance: Shape and uphold high standards in child welfare policies and procedures, staying abreast of updates and ensuring team alignment with all legal and licensing requirements.
• Budget and Resource Management: Prepare monthly reports to track and communicate progress and impact.
• Performance and Accountability: Conduct regular employee appraisals, coach for performance excellence, and drive a high-performing team atmosphere. Implement quality improvement practices.
• Partnership Building: Forge and maintain strong collaborations with licensing, training, recruitment staff, case management, partner agencies and providers to ensure an adequate and qualified pool of foster families.

Requirements
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field.
• Minimum of two years of leadership experience, preferably in licensing or child welfare, with a track record of managing and empowering diverse teams toward shared goals preferred.
