RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Provides and documents direct patient care for patients under the direct supervision of a wound care clinician or provider. While the general age of the patient is adult through geriatric, there may occasionally be infants through pediatric patients. The care will include a safe, comfortable and confidential environment.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High school graduate or equivalent, with education, certification, licensure, or degree in a medical field preferred.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
One year of patient care experience preferred
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
BLS certification through AHA required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
? For the required minimum education, certification, licensure or degree in a medical field, preference is given to the following areas: Patient Care Tech, Athletic Training, Certified Nursing Assistant, Paramedic, Emergency Medical Technician, or Medical Assistant.
? Two (2) years direct care with patients including wound dressing and assisting with minor surgical procedures preferred.
? Ability to perform diagnostic testing and checklist completion preferred.
? Experience with Doppler use preferred.
? Experience in billing and use of databases preferred.
