The LIFE PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) Clinic team delivers essential primary medical care to Tulsa's aging population. Our dedicated professionals strive to provide exceptional services and comprehensive oversight, ensuring participants can remain in their homes safely and comfortably for as long as possible, avoiding the need for nursing facility placement.
We are looking for a Medical Assistant/ Phlebotomist to grow our staff and join a team of professionals, who excel in providing unique health care for Seniors. The ideal candidate will be a certified and/or registered Medical Assistant who thrives working in a team environment in a busy clinic setting.
As the Medical Assistant/ Phlebotomist, you have an essential role in keeping the clinic running smoothly by greeting participants and maintaining a friendly clinic atmosphere. Candidates should be extremely organized, possess outstanding charting ability, computer skills, phone experience, and good written/verbal communication skills. Since this candidate will be working exclusively with seniors, some with dementia, patience and extra compassion may be required at times.
Responsibilities:
· Perform phlebotomy with patients and communicating with off-site providers.
· Greets patients, takes vital signs, obtain their medical histories if relevant, and verify patient information.
· Keeps lab and exam rooms clean, organized, well-stocked and sterilized. In addition, cleans and sterilizes instruments and disposes of contaminated supplies.
· Answers phones and schedules current patients for clinic appointments, ensuring any transportation needs are communicated, and calls participants for clinic appointment reminders.
· Performs basic diagnostics such as ECG, spirometry and hearing screens.
· Performs treatments as directed, including but not limited to breathing treatments and ear irrigation.
· Actively participates in clinic meetings and the general morning meeting.
· Maintains accurate charting, and effectively communicates with nursing staff.
· Forwards all medical question and initial requests for a clinic visit to the nurse case manager.
· Maintains patient confidentiality.
Requirements
Qualifications:
·Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA) required.
· High school diploma, some college preferred.
· Prefer one (1) year experience working with the elderly population in a community-based or long-term care setting.
· Prefer one (1) year experience in drawing blood.
· Spanish bilingual skills strongly preferred.

This is a Safety Sensitive position requiring candidates to have:
· a background check,
