Scheduler
Full-time (On-Site, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm)
Tallahassee, FL
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Answers incoming telephone calls from patients and physician offices in a pleasant and professional manner, and schedules, coordinates and reschedules patient appointments.
- Relays necessary messages to staff, screens calls as appropriate and provides accurate and helpful information regarding patient appointments and testing.
- Ability to work quickly, cheerfully and maintain voice quality during prolonged talking.
- Proficient language skills – must be able to be understood and to pronounce names.
- Must be able to maintain phone conversation while verifying and updating necessary information and records in the Radiology Information System.
- Maintains and updates current information on technologist schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly and appointments are confirmed.
- Maintains a trusting environment by always protecting patient and practice confidentiality.
- May also make outbound calls to schedule or confirm appointments or to request additional information from patients or providers with the same high level of customer service as inbound calls.
- Files patients orders and renames order in fax folder.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE:
One year work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
Knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
Word processing and computer experience.
