Key Responsibilities
- Derive and interpret compliance requirements from laws, regulations, and licence conditions.
- Translate these requirements into functional specifications and Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) for product and technology teams.
- Support market expansion efforts by identifying and capturing technical regulatory requirements for new jurisdictions.
- Define acceptance criteria and perform compliance testing prior to product deployment or system changes.
- Define and support the implementation of compliance control monitoring mechanisms to ensure continuous alignment with regulatory expectations.
- Conduct periodic internal audits and reviews to verify ongoing compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with Compliance, Tech, Information Security, Product, and Data teams to embed compliance into the development and delivery lifecycle.
- Provide hands-on support and clear guidance to technical teams to ensure regulatory requirements are properly understood and implemented.
- Arrange, prepare for, and manage external audits and certification processes.
- Own the resolution of any audit findings in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Prepare, verify, and submit regulatory reports in accordance with required formats and timelines, in partnership with other internal teams.
- Maintain and update technical policies, ensuring alignment with applicable legal and regulatory changes.
- Act as the primary reference point for questions relating to technical standards and compliance during product development or system changes.
- Continuously research emerging technical regulatory requirements across jurisdictions and advise the business on necessary adaptations.
- Proactively identify potential risks and compliance gaps in collaboration with senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Systems, Computer Science, Compliance, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in a compliance, regulatory, or governance role with strong exposure to technology and/or product development.
- Ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into technical specifications or actionable requirements.
- Familiarity with software and systems development lifecycles, especially in regulated environments (e.g., iGaming, fintech, financial services).
- Strong understanding of testing, quality assurance, and compliance monitoring practices.
- Experience in coordinating external audits, managing regulatory reports, and updating technical policies.
