Piscataqua Animal Hospital in beautiful Kittery, ME is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our crew of weirdly wonderful animal people. We’re a small, tight-knit, low-drama hospital that takes patient care seriously—but not ourselves. We love a good laugh, a well-placed pun, and a really well-wrapped bandage.
Whether you’re a credentialed tech or an experienced, unlicensed vet tech with solid skills and great instincts, we’re interested.
What You’ll Actually Do Here (besides steal puppy snuggles):
- Provide top-notch, compassionate nursing care—like, the kind you’d want for your own pet
- Rock out everything from blood draws to dental cleanings to surgery prep
- Induce and monitor anesthesia like a pro
- Collect accurate histories (bonus points if you can do it while being licked in the face)
- Document it all like the detail-oriented wizard you are
- Be a patient advocate, client educator, teammate, and all-around good human
- Teach and mentor newer team members (and accept a little mentoring yourself now and then)
- Continue to grow and learn—we’ll support you every step of the way
You Might Be a Great Fit If:
- You’re a licensed or credentialed Veterinary Technician… OR you’ve been doing this for a while and have the experience to show for it
- You’ve got at least 2 years of small animal clinical experience
- You can math when math is needed (especially drug dosages and fluid rates)
- You’re chill under pressure, but assertive when needed
- You’re a team player with strong communication skills and zero ego
- You can lift 40 lbs and handle being on your feet all day (we’ll get you snacks)
- You care—about animals, clients, coworkers, and doing things the right way
