REPORTS TO: Superintendent of Schools

SALARY SCHEDULE: Avondale Administrators Association
Hire Step- $101,221.00 (Experience credit will be considered)
WORK CALENDAR: Ten months (206 Days)
SUPERVISES: School Staff
JOB GOAL: To promote a quality instructional program for all students in the Avondale School District.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Possess a Michigan Teaching Certificate and possess or be enrolled to earn an Administrative Certificate.
2. Master’s degree or higher in the field of administration preferred, with course work in educational leadership and/or curriculum instruction.
3. Minimum of five years of successful teaching and/or administrative experience.
4. Demonstrated knowledge of current educational issues and best practices, including, but not limited to: school improvement, general knowledge of instructional technology, reading strategies and process writing, team
building, brain-based research, intervention programming, and data analysis.
5. Possess an understanding of educational philosophies.
6. Demonstrated leadership and success in parent/community relations, staff development, and human relations.
7. Knowledge of current best practices in instructional strategies and the ability to improve teacher instruction.
8. Demonstrate knowledge of current federal and state laws and policies, and state and federal grant writing.
9. Demonstrate knowledge of staffing and administration of master schedule.
10. Demonstrate knowledge/experience of successfully handling multiple budgets.
11. Demonstrate knowledge of how to use data to inform instruction.
12. Experience in implementing restorative practices.
13. Experience in community outreach.
14. Demonstrated culturally responsive leadership and experience.
15. Preferred experience in working with at-risk youth, and Title 1 budgeting and servicing.
16. Demonstrated experience of the ability to collaborate and support the Child Study Team process as well as the implementation of Special Education and 504 plans.
17. Experience in establishing and working in partnership with organizations supportive of the needs of the school.
18. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
