ECHO is hiring a Group Lead Custodian – 1st Shift oversees custodial operations across multiple buildings, ensuring all recycling and janitorial tasks are completed efficiently and to standard. Under the direction of the Building Services Supervisor, this role provides daily guidance, assigns tasks, and supports team members on routine duties and special projects. The Group Lead is responsible for training staff, motivating the team, and maintaining organized work and supply areas.
1st Shift M-F 6:30am-2:45pm starting at $18.50/HR!

Duties/Responsibilities:
Oversee custodial staff (Custodian I & II) and daily cleaning activities across multiple buildings
Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure completion of all janitorial and recycling duties
Provide guidance and instruction for routine duties and special projects
Train new and existing team members on cleaning procedures, safety standards, and equipment use
Motivate and support the custodial team to maintain high performance and quality standards
Inspect work areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance with safety protocols
Maintain organized supply rooms and ensure inventory of cleaning materials and equipment
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding progress and needs
Assist in hands-on cleaning tasks as needed to support the team
Qualifications:
1–2 years of custodial or janitorial experience required
Prior leadership or team lead experience preferred
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
Familiarity with cleaning equipment, chemicals, and safety procedures
