Job Title: Rooming Medical Assistant
Reports To: Site Lead and Operations Lead
Department: Nursing
Supervises: N/A
Location: On site
Travel Required: <10%
Position Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt
SUMMARY:
The Rooming Medical Assistant will assist providers with patient care by using current standards for preventative measures and working within the scope of practice to obtain necessary medical data for patient’s visit.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obtain vital signs and perform medication reconciliation during rooming process in a timely and professional manner
- Assist providers in performing various medical procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean
- Create orders using Disease Management and Health Maintenance as an age-based tool to assist with incentive measures
- Work in messaging and document tanks to return patient calls with knowledge of provider scheduling
- Maintain a clean environment set forth by OSHA guidelines
- Uphold strict HIPAA standards when speaking to patients and faxing patient information
- Maintain current HIPAA training an annual basis
- Participate in team meetings to maintain processes and stay alert to pertinent changes
- Report patient related needs to provider
- May assist in other departments as needed
- Any additional duties as assigned by management
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- At least six months experience in related field preferred
- Medent experience preferred
- CPR Certification required
- High School Diploma or GED required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS
The physical requirements and working environment are typical of most medical office settings. Employees are frequently required to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk, balance, hear, talk, reach, and use their hands. Employees may occasionally be required to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb (stepstool) and stretch. Physical effort requires some lifting usually not in excess of 25 pounds. The office work environment is indoors and free from dust, smoke, moisture, and excessive noise.
