Assist Company yard locations with all aspects of Health, Safety and Environment. Position will require the ability to train, conduct safety meetings, facilitate root cause analysis, assists operational managers with the case management of Workers' Compensation claims. Acts as liaison between employee, and benefits department and insurance providers in order to resolve benefit related
problems and ensure effective utilization of plans and positive employee relations. May also perform related duties and tasks as assigned by the Regional Manager, HSE Director, or VP of Human Resources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct classroom and field safety training meetings/sessions. Must provide safety meeting reports same day to management.
• Facilitate HSE and HR training and documentation.
• Under general supervision, provides employees with up to date information regarding company policies and benefits. Counsels employees on plan provisions so that they may make informed benefit decisions.
• Demonstrates a willingness to assist all team members regarding any work related questions.
• Maintains viable relationships with managers and team members at all times.
• Must exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others, and works to maintain constructive relationships.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills, and communication skills.
• Provides accurate Human Resource reports and various other related reports as required.
• Required to conduct employment related investigations and make appropriate recommendations in accordance with Federal and State employment laws.
• Responsible for conducting SSE/new hire and exit interviews and providing monthly reports of interview results.
• Responsible for preparing weekly, monthly and quarterly HSE reports, statistics, and presentations related to leading and lagging indicators and HSE performance. These reports will be presented to the yard managers and safety leadership.
• May serve as a reference for managers regarding employment laws, and company policies and procedures.
• Conduct quarterly safety inspections of facilities, field locations, vehicles and equipment.
• Assist and advise yard managers and supervisors with the investigations of accidents and near misses.
• Supervise regular inspections of safety and emergency response equipment.
• Responsible for promoting a positive safety culture within the company and promoting new safety initiatives, according to the corporate compliance plan, and educating the yard level management, supervisors and field employees on the new initiatives.
• Responsible for ensuring the leaders of the safety group are included on all reporting of incidents.
• Responsible for working with customer representatives and yard leadership to determine post incident corrective actions and assisting in the implementation of those corrective actions.
• Responsible for maintaining employee confidentiality including test results, what tests are performed and any billing-related or account issues for the purposes of
workers compensation.
• Facilitate root cause analysis teams for incidents and make corrective action recommendations.
• Must be dependable and be able to report to work at the scheduled time and is seldom absent from work. The employee is expected to complete work in a timely and accurate manner.
• Travel is required for work related events, and we reserve the right to collect a Motor Vehicle Record to ensure compliance with our policy.
• Any other duty, responsibility or task as assigned by management.
