Maintenance Lead

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the mentoring and guidance of General Maintenance Team Members, and to ensure the cleanliness of the Shooting Star Casino, Hotel, and Event Center through inspections. In all interactions, the position is responsible for making STAR service to guests and fellow team members a first priority.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides exceptional, STAR Service to ensure overall guest satisfaction.
- Performs the steps of STAR Service, which include:
o Smile and Greet
o Take Care of Needs
o Anticipate, Ask and Act
o Remember to Thank and Close
- Performs the position-specific STAR service expectations, as outlined by the department.
Mentors and guides personnel to ensure Departmental operations are completed.
- Communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to assure mutual understanding of desired results.
- Performs training of General Maintenance Team Members on the proper cleaning and safety procedures throughout the facility to ensure a knowledgeable workforce.
- Assesses Team Member performance, provides positive and constructive feedback on an ongoing basis to reinforce desired results.
- Identifies training and/or development opportunities that will assist the Team Member in achieving enhanced job performance and/or career objectives.
Inspects the cleanliness and appearance of the entire casino, hotel, event center, and Manitok Mall common areas, and other areas when called for (ie: the Golden Eagle Bingo Lodge) in order to maintain a clean, orderly, and sanitary environment for customers and Team Members of the Shooting Star Casino, Hotel & Event Center.
· Inspects for cleanliness, polishing, and sanitization of all ceilings, windows, walls, and floors.
· Ensures that waste containers are emptied and cleaned, and that trash and cardboard are disposed of in a safe and orderly fashion
· Reviews Daily and Major Book check-off lists to ensure complete and accurate information.
Trains General Maintenance Team Members on the proper cleaning procedures throughout the facility to ensure a knowledgeable workforce.
· Guides on the proper cleaning safety procedures.
· Educates on the purpose and usage of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) when working with chemicals.
· Coaches Team Members with paperwork skills and encourages the advancement of others.
· Trains Team Members in operating industrial cleaning equipment (ie: extractors, buffers, man lifts, etc.)
· Instructs Team Members on the proper procedure of extracting carpeted areas, and upholstered furniture.
· Trains Team Members on stripping and sealing procedures of tile and hard wood floors using equipment and chemicals.
Monitors equipment function and notifies appropriate personnel of necessary repairs needed for both equipment, and the facility to minimize equipment down time.
· Fills out work orders and forwards to appropriate personnel.
· Makes minor repairs and adjustments to both the facility, and equipment (as applicable).
Monitors levels of supplies on a daily basis and performs requisitions to ensure adequate stock on hand to meet general maintenance needs.
Listens and responds to guest concerns to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction.
- Refers guests to the appropriate department or function for issue resolution.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
One-year certificate from college or technical school; or minimum of six months related experience and/or training
Certificates, Licenses & Designations
Must meet licensing requirements as prescribed by the Tribal State Compact for Gaming.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, safety rules, and operation and maintenance instructions.
- Knowledge to write simple and/or complex correspondence.

WORKING CONDITIONS
· Frequent exposure to hazardous chemicals
· Frequent Exposure to bio-hazardous waste, and Blood Borne Pathogens.

· Occasional to frequent exposure to loud noise.
