Job Title: Seasonal Asset Recovery Coordinator (Seasonal position through November 30th with a potential extension through May 31, 2026)

Job Type: Full-time, Seasonal position, Non-exempt, Thursday, Friday (6:00 am - 2:30 pm), Saturday and Sunday (7:00 am - 3:30 pm)

Founded in 2014, Bicycle Transit Systems (BTS) is a woman-owned business with a mission to operate bike share systems that create connections in our communities and protect our planet. We operate and manage a portfolio of bike share systems across the United States, as well as a nation-wide customer service call center. We are currently looking for a dedicated and talented Asset Recovery Coordinator!

The Asset Recovery Coordinator will coordinate with assigned contractors and law enforcement in the recovery of bikes and/or equipment across Metro Bike Share’s operating regions. They will collaborate with different departments to gather information on potential missing bike locations and identify theft/loss patterns. The position will work under the guidance of the Dispatch Manager (with accountability to the Deputy Director of Operations) to ensure that assets are recovered in a timely manner. The Asset Recovery Coordinator will work with the Operations, Customer Service, and Marketing Departments to reduce the rate of bike loss and will complete all reporting associated with bike recovery. The position will implement long term projects and programs that will reinforce the position of Metro Bike Share as a public bike share system.   

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Provide guidance on Metro Bike shares mission and values to third party contractor.  
  • Coordinate recovery of Metro Bike Share bikes with third party contractor and law enforcement.  
  • Complete reporting associated with recovery of bikes and-or equipment.  
  • Use software tools to locate and identify bikes then communicate with third party contractor.  

 

Daily Tasks: 

  • Open and close service tickets.  
  • Operate company vehicle or cargo bike to perform daily tasks. 
  • Interact with bike share passholders to promote bike share to the general public.  
  • Complete reporting for the day 
  • Ride E-Trike to perform daily tasks.
  • Monitor for new reports of stolen/missing bikes 

 

Weekly Tasks: 

  • Review weekly tasks and recovery goals.

Monthly Tasks: 

  • Produce overview of asset recovery metrics for prior month 
  • Create asset recovery plan/goals for the following month 

 

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborates with the Customer Relations Coordinator, Dispatch team and other departments as needed.  
  • Serve as point-of-contact with third party contractor and Law Enforcement agencies.  
  • Assist with bike and bike station deployment and redeployment.
  • Sourcing third party contractors as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:  

  • Ability to problem solve and remain calm under pressure. 
  • 2+ years' experience in loss prevention, asset recovery or repossession.  
  • Experience with community outreach  
  • Maintain high levels of public relations with the community. This includes providing answers to any questions about Metro Bike Share, directions to various programs, and information about Metro Bike Share. 
  • Experience with de-escalation strategies and techniques. 
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong organizational skills while adapting to changes in the work environment.  
  • Must be able to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service. 
  • Valid driver’s license and current driving record that meets our insurability requirements. 
  • Must be comfortable driving, stopping, and working in busy outdoor urban environments.  
  • Ability to ride a bicycle in an urban environment.  
  • Ability to understand and learn technical aspects of the software and the hardware capabilities and needs of a bike share system.  
  • Ability to understand and analyze data. 
  • Proficiency with computers and the ability to learn new software with basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite.  
  • Bilingual is a plus
