JOB OVERVIEW
The Accountant enters and reviews journal entries needed for the accurate and timely month-end close and financial reporting. This position provides exposure to all areas of Eataly’s Accounting operation, with a focus and concentration on Accounts Payable, Expense Analysis, Sales and Local Taxes. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role works closely with finance teams, and other key internal stakeholders, to support Accounting oversight of key business processes and activities through balance sheet and profit/loss statement reconciliation and payables accounting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and reconcile key operational expense postings for the month-end close, undertaking variance analysis and journaling cost reclassifications, deferrals, and corrections as needed
Maintain and update expense schedules related to legal, rent, insurance, and utilities costs
Prepare and file sales tax returns, reconciling sales tax payable to balance sheet
Prepare month-end reconciliation documentation for important balance sheet accounts
Collaborate with Financial Planning team, reviewing expenses and making accruals as needed
Assist with internal and external audits of capital expenditures and other expenses by providing documentation, explanations, and process overviews upon request
Review and manage payable integrations into the ERP
Support the balance sheet reconciliations as needed, ensuring all accounts are properly supported and variances are investigated and resolved
Perform other duties as required or assigned
The annual salary for this position is: $90,000-$100,000
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or a related role required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
Advanced Excel proficiency required – Excel templates, lookup formulas, pivot tables. On-site assessment will be required
Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics – Finance & Operations highly preferred
Familiarity with Accounts Payable functions highly preferred
Experience with ITA GAAP and IFRS preferred, but not required
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support collaborative team environment
Desire and aptitude to work in a fast-paced environment
