Clay County Missouri has an opportunity for a dedicated, highly skilled and analytical individual to assist the Collector in the management bookkeeping functions, audits, departmental IT projects, and compliance. This individual will function as part of the leadership team of the Collector's office performing duties such as; prepare and reconcile daily bank deposits; identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues, oversee IT projects impacting department, and administer the refund process and issues refund checks.


The ideal candidate will hold a high school diploma or equivalent; be able to professionally communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; have four years’ experience in professional setting and be able to handle stressful situations. A candidate with a bachelor's degree with specialized coursework in general office practices, management, business, and accounting, or MBA is preferred.

The employee will receive an hourly salary of $19.77 with a benefits package that includes two defined benefit retirement plans fully funded by the County and a deferred-compensation plan with a match. Also, three medical plans to choose from including two high deductible plans with HSA plans the County deposits into, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, and supplemental plans. Full-time employees are also offered life insurance (2X annual salary) paid by the County, paid vacation/sick leave, 14.5 paid holidays, LTD and tuition reimbursement.
