- Responsible for directing, monitoring and coordinating Regional Bus operations 24 hours/7 days/week, to ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and reliable transportation for customers and employees. Supports operating personnel by directing the activities for manager and supervisor personnel assigned to the Regional Bus BCC. Plans and directs the B/O check ride program, consolidated picks and dispatcher assignments.
- Directs all activities for Road Operations including responding timely to road incidences, service management, shuttle bus operations and customer service. Ensuring safe, reliable, cost effective and on-schedule bus transportation services throughout New York City. Development of Service Management goals (KPIs) and implementation that will improve the customer experience.
- Responsible/accountable for developing/managing the implementation and enforcement of all transportation operating policies/procedures affecting the safe, efficient and reliable operation of buses. Directs the interpretation and application of transportation Labor Agreements and personnel policies. Develops and negotiates Regional Buses’ Transportation objectives for contract negotiations.
- Effectively plan all resources for the entire scope of the New Bus Command Center and Radio System Capital projects. Develop and plan to ensure project design and construction adequately reflects the transformation of service delivery utilizing new technology and empowering staff with training. Plan and direct all Regional Bus Transportation training, education and development programs for operating personnel.
- Is directly involved in bus service planning functions/initiatives (SBS, Bus Time, Bus Trek etc.). This includes the modernization of the bus redesigns. Contributes to bus route planning, to ensure traffic enforcement, right of way and customer safety. Directs the Customer Advocate's development of new initiatives and review/modification or existing/planned Initiatives to improve the bus customer's experience including service.
- A Baccalaureate’s degree from an accredited college in Business Administration, Transportation Management, Public Administration, or a closely related field and fifteen (15) years of satisfactory full-time related professional experience, and at least eight (8) years of which must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity; or
- A satisfactory equivalent of combined education and experience requirements
- Directly related transit operating experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of learning theory needs analysis, behavioral objectives, curriculum Development & Evaluation techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of NYCT Transportation operating rules/regulations & policies/procedures; organizational development, accident investigation and safe bus operation procedures.
- Experience performing short & long-term planning functions in a large public organization.
- Master's Degree preferred
