Position Summary:
BOLD Public Schools is seeking a highly organized and community-minded
individual to serve as the part-time (0.4 FTE) Community Education Coordinator.
This position is responsible for the planning, development, coordination,
implementation, and evaluation of all Community Education and Early Childhood
Family Education (ECFE) programs. The coordinator works closely with school
district leadership, staff, the community pool director, and community partners to
provide high-quality, accessible educational and recreational opportunities for
learners of all ages.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Oversight & Evaluation: ? Develop, organize, coordinate, implement, and direct all programs and
activities related to Community Education and ECFE.
? Evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements based on
feedback, data, and community needs.
? Plan and supervise administrative procedures and recordkeeping for all
programs.
Staffing & Instructional Support:
? Hire, train, and supervise instructors and support staff as needed.
? Work with the Early Childhood Coordinator to ensure preschool programs
are adequately staffed and remain within budget.
? Meet with instructors before classes to provide materials and updated
class lists.
Collaboration & Communication: ? Coordinate Community Education efforts with local organizations, school
administration, state agencies, area Community Education, and recreation
departments.
? Develop and work with the Community Education Advisory Council; attend
all relevant meetings (minimum 4/year).
? Participate in professional development, licensing, and continuing
education related to Community Education.
Marketing & Public Outreach:
? Generate flyers and coordinate with the local newspaper to ensure timely
distribution to the community.
? Implement a variety of promotional and public information strategies to
increase program visibility and engagement.
Registration & Technology Management:
? Manage online registration using Arbiter, ensuring program details are
current and accessible.
? Enter phone and mailed registrations manually to ensure complete and
accurate rosters.
? Provide instructors with updated class lists and necessary materials.
Finance & Budget:
? Administer the Community Education budget, including ECFE program
finances.
? Generate purchase orders and oversee all supply orders within the
department.
? Prepare and submit grant applications as directed by the Superintendent.
Compliance & Reporting:
? Review and comply with federal and state laws and guidelines relating to
Community Education.
? Complete state reports required by the Minnesota Community Education
Association (MCEA).
Qualifications:
? Education & Experience:
? Bachelor’s degree in education, public administration, or a related
field (Master’s preferred).
? Prior experience in Community Education, public programming, or
youth/family services.
? Experience with budgeting, staff supervision, and program
coordination preferred.
? Skills & Competencies:
? Strong organizational and leadership skills.
? Excellent written and verbal communication.
? Proficiency in digital platforms and registration software.
? Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external
stakeholders.
? Flexibility to attend evening and occasional weekend events.
Working Conditions: ? Primarily based within BOLD Public Schools facilities, with occasional travel
to program sites and community meetings.
? Flexible hours within the part-time schedule, including some evening or
weekend commitments.
