Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our team in building premium offshore fishing boats. This role involves welding, fabricating, and assembling structural and precision metal components to support our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be proficient in TIG welding, experienced in a fast-paced fabrication or metal shop environment, and preferably have prior exposure to the marine or boat-building industry.

This is a hands-on, safety-sensitive position that contributes directly to the strength, durability, and quality of our vessels. If you’re detail-oriented, team-focused, and passionate about producing top-tier craftsmanship, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Weld, fabricate, and assemble structural metal components including frameworks, brackets, tanks, rigging supports, and other stainless or aluminum assemblies.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, job orders, blueprints, and verbal instructions to plan layout and sequence of operations.
  • Accurately measure, cut, bend, and shape metal materials using hand tools and machinery.
  • Set up and operate various fabrication equipment including press brakes, shears, saws, drill presses, and flame cutters.
  • Construct custom templates, jigs, and fixtures to support repeatable processes and accuracy.
  • Perform quality checks on fabricated parts to ensure adherence to specifications using measuring tools such as squares, tape measures, and calipers.
  • Collaborate with engineers, mold teams, and other departments to support boat builds and meet production timelines.
  • Safely access and work in tight, confined, or elevated spaces onboard vessels.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work area at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or leadership team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient in TIG and MIG welding, with a strong preference for TIG experience on aluminum and stainless steel.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in metal fabrication or welding in a production or manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with metal shop tools, machinery, and general safety practices.
  • Must be able to work independently, manage time effectively, and take initiative when solving fabrication challenges.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in the marine industry or boat manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience fabricating components for hulls, towers, tanks, or marine frameworks.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, bend, stoop, crawl, and work in tight or confined spaces.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding safely to access vessels or elevated workspaces.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. regularly without assistance.
  • Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions including heat, humidity, and non-climate-controlled spaces.
  • Ability to wear required PPE (eye protection, gloves, respirators, hearing protection, etc.) and follow all safety protocols.
  • Must be able to work 10-hour shifts or longer, including scheduled or unscheduled overtime, as needed.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, welding fumes, and vibration.
  • Noise levels range from moderate to loud.
  • Majority of work takes place in a non-climate-controlled production facility.
