POSITION SUMMARY: Ensures the timely and accurate generation of financial information for the Bank’s business units. Ensures the Bank’s accounting policies and procedures are in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and regulatory requirements. Responsible for management level reporting including budgetary and forecasting reports. Manages accounting/finance staff and departmental workflows.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages all accounting functions while enhancing the systems and processes required to fulfill a variety of complex reporting requirements. Ensures compliance with GAAP and regulatory and legal requirements.
- Reviews and approves daily and weekly GL entries, entries to the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB) and the Bank’s accounts payable. Researches and directs resolution of discrepancies.
- Oversees GL entries including depreciation of fixed assets, prepaid and accrued expenses. Researches and resolves discrepancies.
- Generates financial statements and monthly budget reports, including the income statement and statement of condition. Ensures integrity of the Bank’s corporate financial statements.
- Serves as the primary administrator for all financial processing systems including general ledger, fixed assets, accounts payable, budgeting, and investment modules. Maintains and modifies system parameters, report configurations and user authorizations to support operational workflows.
- Provides quarterly documentation to the Bank’s ALCO service provider to support preparation and maintenance of all quarterly ALCO, Liquidity, and Capital Stress Testing. Reviews ALCO output for accuracy and work with third-party consultant to resolve any discrepancies.
- Oversees and participates in the development of the Bank’s annual budget.
- Provides direction and leadership to the accounting and finance departments. Develops and mentors staff, conducts performance coaching as well as evaluations of employee performances.
- Assists in all phases of audits by external/internal auditors and various regulatory examiners.
- Chairperson of the Bank’s Budget Committee and member of the Asset/Liability Committee (ALCO).

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT: Management of accounting/finance department team.
REQUIRED SKILLS: In-depth knowledge of accounting policies, practices, and systems as well as financial industry regulatory requirements. Excellent analytical, communication and leadership skills. Skilled in adopting and leveraging technologies to enhance efficiency, communication, and task management. Proficient in PC software. Ability to direct projects, set priorities and manage workflow in a deadline driven environment.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance, CPA preferred
MINIMUM PRIOR EXPERIENCE: 7 years related experience in Accounting/Finance
