Duties
You will employ active adult learning methodology to design and teach courses, lead seminars, and facilitate experiential learning activities that prepare Marines to serve effectively as part of a JTF.,You will participate in the design, development, and synchronization of the College’s curriculum with regards to topics related to JADO.,You will advise and assist students in a graduate-level advanced degree program that includes the design of a research plan, and the development of oral and written products.,You will conduct research to advance the understanding of JADO and its application within military education and operational contexts.,You will participate in service activities within EDCOM/MCU and the broader professional community.
Qualifications
The incumbent must possess comprehensive knowledge of JADO and the principles of joint, interagency, and multinational operations across all domains: land, sea, subsurface, air, space, and cyberspace. A thorough understanding of PME at the graduate level, including instructional design, curriculum development, and the integration of emerging trends in military operations, is essential. The position requires advanced research and analytical skills to conduct original research, develop innovative academic programs, and publish scholarly works. Familiarity with the mission, structure, and functions of EDCOM, MCU, and DoD is critical, as is the ability to mentor and guide students in complex and dynamic environments. Strong communication skills are necessary to teach, collaborate with faculty, and engage with external stakeholders. Required qualifications include an earned master's degree from an institution accredited by a Department of Education recognized institutional accrediting agency. Other qualifications that will make candidates especially competitive include: an advanced degree in one or more of the following areas: National Security, Strategic Studies, International Affairs, International Relations, or a related field; graduation from a U.S. military senior-level Service College with JPME-II certification; relevant and proven expertise in joint operational level warfare demonstrated experience working in the national security and defense environments. An earned Ph.D. in one of the academic fields noted above, military Service College teaching experience, Joint Service Officer (JSO) qualification, experience developing plans and conducting operations in the Indo-Pacific, experience planning and executing fires, effects, and/or air operations in close coordination with multiple components, services, and through multiple domains, and experience advancing novel concepts, informed but not bounded by current doctrine. This opening will be filled under Title 10 Excepted Service, Professor of Practice, AD-07, salary range: $137,248 - $167, 532, which includes the current Local Market Supplement of 33.94%. Pay and title will be set commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and MCU pay setting. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

This is a Solicitation of Interest to create a pool of qualified candidates to fill an excepted service position (Title 10) of Professor of Practice (Joint All-Domain Operations [JADO]) at the Marine Corps Command and Staff College (CSC), Marine Corps University. The Marine Corps Command and Staff College is located in Warner Hall on the campus of Marine Corps University on Marine Corps Base, Quantico, Virginia located 35 miles south of Washington, DC. EDCOM/MCU, through CSC's JADO Program, educates and prepares military officers and government civilians to serve as part of a Joint Task Force (JTF). Comprised of forces from multiple military branches, JTFs integrate capabilities across domains-land, sea, subsurface, air, space, and cyberspace-to execute complex missions that often involve coordination with allied nations, interagency partners, and other stakeholders. The role of JTFs is to provide unified command structures that enable rapid decision-making and effective resource allocation in response to dynamic operational demands. The JADO Program equips graduates with the knowledge, skills, and strategic mindset necessary to operate in complex, contested environments while fostering collaboration across all domains. Through this comprehensive approach, the program enhances strategic agility, ensuring the ability to respond effectively to emerging threats and maintain a decisive advantage in modern warfare. The purpose and focus of this Title 10 faculty position is to develop and deliver high-quality educational content as part of the JADO Program at EDCOM/CSC.
