Job Title: Distribution Associate II

Pay: $21.00 – $22.58

Location: Auburn, ME

Schedule: Monday to Friday | 6:00 am -2:30 pm

Designation: Hourly | Nonexempt

Closing Date: August 18, 2025

Your Role in Our Mission:


Under limited supervision, the Distribution Associate II performs work of moderate to complex difficulty in the accurate storing, shipping, and receiving of products to meet company standards of safety, security, and productivity. The associate is responsible for operating machinery to move, locate, relocate, pick, and stack inventory. The Distribution Associate position cross-trains in multiple functions to ensure successful distribution operations.

 

In This Position, You Will:

  • Perform a broad range of tasks, which include but are not limited to loading, unloading, storing, and preparing shipments.
  • Review orders, pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and product type are loaded and shipped. Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that adheres to company standards.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
  • Manage appropriate records and reports to maintain tight inventory control and security.
  • Assist with physical inventory counts and perform inventory adjustments, transfers, and disposals in an inventory management system.
  • Ensure the proper handling, rotation, and replenishment of stock.
  • Operate material handling equipment safely, efficiently, and according to the proper procedures.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentoring to new and existing team members regarding standard operating procedures and safety regulations.
  • Assist junior staff with more complex support tasks that require a higher understanding of functions, as directed by the immediate supervisor.
  • Provide training and guidance to individual and group volunteers; supervise individual and group volunteers. 
  • Escalate issues to supervisor for resolution, as deemed necessary.
  • Ensure a clean, neat, and orderly work area; cleans and maintains supplies, tools, and equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations, Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) standards. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

As a Successful Candidate, You Have:


Minimum Experience Required

  • Two years of experience in a warehouse or distribution center.
  • Two years of experience operating industrial power equipment, including forklifts, pallet jackets, pickers, and dock levelers.
  • Two years of experience with warehouse management and inventory systems.
  • Two years of experience delivering quality customer service.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge of food safety standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to record data accurately.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.
  • Fluency in English; verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Basic computer hardware and software operation.
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment and complete assignments within established timeframes.
  • Ability to operate multiple frequency devices, handheld scanners, and other power equipment.


Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

The conditions herein represent those that an individual must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
 

Environment: Typically located in an ambient and temperature-controlled warehouse environment with regular exposure to factors that may cause discomfort, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, and loud noises.


Physical: This position requires exerting over 100 pounds of force occasionally, over 50 pounds of force frequently, and over 20 pounds constantly to move objects. The position requires lifting and carrying over 50 lbs often and lifting to 100 lbs occasionally. Additionally, this position involves the operation of manual pallet jacks that can manage loads over 2000 lbs. This includes pushing and pulling products throughout the warehouse. While performing job duties, individuals must regularly use their hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with their hands and arms; and talk or hear. This position requires individuals to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Specific vision abilities require the visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and heavy equipment, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
