JOB SUMMARY:
The Snow Sports Department is a fun and exciting way to join the on-mountain ski industry and the Monarch family. The Snow Sports Adult Program Supervisor should have a positive attitude, enjoy being outdoors, and enjoy sharing their knowledge and passion for skiing or snowboarding. The Snow Sports Adult Program Supervisor position is responsible for assisting and working closely with the Snow Sports Director/Assistant Director in the overall organizations and execution of activities needed for the daily operation of Monarch Mountain’s Adult ski/snowboard lessons, ensuring each guests’ expectations are exceeded.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The Adult Program Supervisor responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work in conjunction with other employees and departments as part of the Monarch team.
- Ensure all forms, tracking, verifications and necessary documenting are executed and accurately completed in a timely manner. This includes, though not limited to requests, training, payroll, time-keeping, fiscal responsibilities, disciplinary actions...etc.
- Assist in the hiring of department A-Team employees.
- Schedule department staff for efficient coverage of department functions based on childcare reservations and projected skier budget. Adjust to actual requirements as appropriate.
- Perform initial and ongoing training of departmental staff.
- Provide timely employee feedback, and contribute to producing qualitative performance reviews of department A-Team staff.
- Be aware of and assist in staying within budgetary constraints; offer input for next season's budget proposal.
- Offer input for departmental capital requests.
- Work in conjunction with other departments as part of the Monarch team.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of training materials, manuals, checklists and other documents necessary for the success of the department.
- Prepare and assist in the oversight of department personnel and the safety and security of children in your charge in the event of an emergency.
- Provide professional solutions and courteous assistance in problem solving for both guests and employees.
- Monitor and maintain the inventory and condition of department supplies, properties and facilities.
- Teaching hill set up, coordinating with other departments to facilitate the opening of Ski School specific terrain, includes Safari lift opening, lift maze set up for Ski School access, checking grooming of teaching terrain, and protective markers and fencing.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Age: 21
- Legal citizen of the United States or possess other proper work permit authentication.
- High School Diploma or GED required, college degree preferred.
- A valid driver’s license and good, company insurable driving record required.
- Skiing and/or snowboarding experience required.
- Background check required.
- 1 year of prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Current PSIA/AASI membership and minimum of Level I certification is required.
- Requires working at high elevation (up to 12,000’), with extended exposure to adverse weather conditions, such as severe cold, heavy snowfall, rain, strong winds and intense sun.
