As the Code Enforcement Supervisor, you will provide programmatic oversight and regulatory compliance for the Cross Connection Control Program, a key requirement of the City’s Water Distribution System permit issued by the NC Department of Environmental Quality. Your leadership ensures the City remains compliant with state regulations and prevents backflow hazards that could introduce dangerous substances into the public water system.
Key responsibilities include:
Administering and enforcing the Cross Connection Control Program.
Ensuring inspections, enforcement actions, and education efforts are conducted and documented according to state permit requirements.
Supervising regulatory operations and maintaining the program’s inspection and enforcement database.
Drafting enforcement letters, tracking compliance, and conducting outreach to promote backflow prevention.
Coordinating with internal departments, customers, and regulatory agencies to ensure high standards of safety and compliance.
Your attention to detail and ability to lead with integrity will be instrumental in preserving public trust and environmental safety.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / G.E.D
- 1+ years of experience in Water Distribution, field regulatory compliance, or directly related experience as it relates to the job responsibilities.
- Must have a valid driver's license (will drive city vehicles)
- NC Cross Connection certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years' experience working with enQuesta or a similar customer service database.
- 2 years' experience with The Compliance Engine or similar cross-connection database.
- 2 years supervisory experience.
