POSITION SUMMARY

 

Reporting to the Executive Director of the Catholic Education Foundation, the Associate Director of Development is a key member of CEF and development team, responsible for the cultivating and stewarding relationships with prospects and enhancing existing donor relations. The Associate Director is involved in a full range of development, stewardship and marketing/communication duties, including working collaboratively with other CEF staff.  The Associate Director must demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence and be a good listener, outgoing, sincere, and hard-working, and passionate for Catholic school education. A high level of maturity, integrity, initiative, creativity and confidentiality is required.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Because all Archdiocesan employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work.

  • Manage assigned portfolio of prospects and donors who support CEF. Meet annual fundraising goals as determined in partnership with the executive director, chief of staff and CEF Board.
  • Work with the executive director, chief of staff and CEF board to implement the strategic plan/vision for CEF.
  • Work with the executive director, development team and CEF board to identify prospects, cultivate and steward existing donors, and secure new gifts in support of the program.
  • Passionate and enthusiastic fundraiser with demonstrated ability to build and maintain meaningful and successful supporter relationships with an emphasis on balancing both a mass stewardship program that feels personal and a portfolio of high-touch relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop successful strategies for donor recruitment and retention.
  • Help develop and implement a comprehensive cultivation and stewardship plan, building relationships with mid-level donors, next generation and CEF alumni, via phone calls, personalized email communications, ongoing written contact and events.
  • Develop strategic engagement and solicitation strategies for Mid-Level and next generation donors to increase donor retention and upgrade donors’ giving.
  • Familiarity with all aspects of fundraising concepts, including Planned Giving, Major Gifts and stewardship functions
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction with existing donors and grow relationships.
  • Identify, research and cultivate prospective prospects.
  • Partner with executive director on donor and prospect visits, as needed.
  • Ensure timely correspondence and acknowledgment of gifts; and record all contacts in the donor database.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and comfortably with donors in person and over the phone
  • Collaborative team players are able to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent writing skills to assist the director of marketing and communications and executive director, as needed.
  • Work in partnership with other development departments (i.e. planned giving) to steward CEF legacy donors.
