Description
- Oversee the preparation and timely submission of all federal, state, and local tax filings (including sales, occupancy, and business taxes).
- Ensure tax filings are accurate, compliant, and supported by thorough documentation.
- Review and approve monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts across multiple entities. Investigate, resolve, and report on discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain a reconciliation calendar and ensure timely completion.
- Lead and manage the month-end close process to deliver accurate and timely financial statements for the resort and its subsidiaries.
- Prepare and/or review monthly journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Provide financial analysis on month-end results as needed.
- Supervise the AP team to ensure timely processing and payment of vendor invoices across the resort and its subsidiaries.
- Review AP aging reports and address outstanding issues.
- Implement and maintain strong controls over vendor management, approvals, and payment workflows.
- Manage accounting operations for multiple entities under the corporate structure.
- Ensure intercompany transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
- Coordinate with property-level teams and department heads to ensure consistency in accounting practices.
- Maintain effective communication and interaction with all departments of the property, assist with training and resolving issues.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls across all accounting processes.
- Identify areas for operational and financial process improvements and implement best practices.
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to audit inquiries.
- Knowledgeable in Accounting systems/software, such as NetSuites, EZ Suites, SMS, Streamline.
- Attend meetings as directed by the DOF.
- Assist accounting office with other tasks as assigned.
- Ensure all team members follow the established resorts’ guidelines and SOPs.
- Provide and promote exceptional customer service among all department across the resort.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance required.
- 3-5 years’ experience in in the hospitality field required.
- Position requires flexibility in scheduling
- Must have attention to detail, strong ability to multi-task, and time-management skills
- Knowledge of US tax law and experience with YS labor laws is required.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time, able to complete repetitive motions during shift.
- Must be able to lift at least 25lbs.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft software.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to assist in leading a team efficiently and successfully.
- Ability to communicate effectively, have exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
