We currently have an opportunity for a Cost Accountant position located in Rockleigh, NJ, with rotations at the production facilities in Teterboro, NJ and Harriman, NY.  

Reporting to the Cost Accounting Manager and Assistant Controller, the Cost Accountant monitors and tracks costs associated with production routing, raw materials and finished goods for all company divisions. This position is also responsible for maintaining the alcohol drawback records and filing quarterly returns.

The Cost Accountant works closely with the production, planning & analysis, demand planning and SAP teams.  This position will also be the person responsible for the SAP Product Costing module.

Job Functions include:

  • Responsible for the SAP Product Costing module.
  • Maintains records and files quarterly, and prepares annual SDA reporting
  • Manages consignment inventory, including periodic physical inventories and audits.
  • Ensures new materials are costed and monitors costs for all materials.
  • Monitors the costs of production for “Citrus Center” production campaigns for citrus oils and co-products.
  • Reviews key manufacturing and inventory general ledger accounts.
  • Develops and reports on manufacturing KPI’s, inventory usage and expiring inventory.
  • Analyzes and reports on the following:
    1. key manufacturing costs (utilities, supplies, packaging, etc.)
    2. monthly/quarterly reserve for inventory obsolescence, including journal entry preparation
    3. monthly/quarterly LCM adjustment, including journal entry preparation.
  • Provides audit support for physical inventories.
  • Performs other assignments as determined by the Manager, Controller or VP of Finance.
  • Works closely with Vice President of Finance, Senior VP of Supply Chain, Plant Managers of the various facilities, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Interaction with the Company’s independent public accountants, internal audit firm and other external consultants.

Qualifications include:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is essential.

Experience: Minimum 5+ years demonstrated experience working in cost accounting, preferably in process manufacturing, along with cost reporting experience, and cross team collaboration.

Competencies:  Strong knowledge of SAP FI/CO, Product Costing and Material Ledger modules are required. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential. Microsoft Access skills are a plus. Excellent analytical and reasoning skills, plus excellent organization/project management skills are required. This position requires patience, teamwork, resilience and the ability to provide solutions.
