Goal
To provide an enjoyable and safe sporting experience for an assigned group of athletes, while they learn the basic skills needed for a sport. To help young athletes learn the importance of sportsmanship and fair play
Responsibilities
- Adhere to Liberty School District policies, rules, and objectives at all times
- Basic understanding of the rules, skills, and game knowledge required of the sport
- Ability to teach the basic skills of the sport – do not coach more than you understand
- Coach an assigned group of children, focusing on the importance of being on a team, sportsmanship and skill development
- Conduct team tryouts in accordance with District Policy
- Preside over team activities including all scheduled practices and games
- Monitor students on the team before, during and after games. No student will be left at a school unattended
- Responsible for maintaining care of all School and District Sports equipment
- Work to establish and improve team unity and spirit
- Ensure playing time for all players, regardless of the score
- Lead by example to support the goals of the Liberty Schools Athletic League

- Sound character, strong morals, values and personal ethics
- Liberty ESD Certified Staff (preferred)
Requirements
- Valid AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Complete District provided Concussion Awareness and First Aid training
- Coaching assignments are per sport/season for current school year only

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus and monitor students on the periphery.
Work Environment
The employee regularly works indoors/outdoors.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
