Job Summary:

Coordinate the timely movement of all express routes in a safe and effective manner, in compliance with company rules and DOT regulations. Assign workload to available drivers and aides, monitor student movement, and resolve any scheduling issues. Properly use all routing software systems.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and resolve daily service and scheduling Inform and escalate service issues to management as appropriate. Maintain timely and professional communication with customer contacts on issues impacting service and overall performance.
  2. Direct and schedule drivers' Notify drivers of work assignments to ensure on-time movement of goods to maximize operational efficiency.
  3. Regularly monitor driver activities and performance.

  5. Assist accounts payable with tracking and processing billing/payroll.
  6. Respond to parent and student transportation
  7. Communicate with shop personnel on fleet maintenance to ensure proper maintenance and effective scheduling in SBI shop and local shops for routine maintenance.
  8. Responsible for the timely pickup and delivery of all customer orders within assigned area while maintaining.
  9. Responsible for assisting the operation with customer service. This includes answering customer inquiries, answering incoming calls, working with customers at our location and ensuring that all customers are treated based on the Company’s acceptable guidelines.

  1. Assists Transportation Manager by maintaining transportation records, various state/federal/district reports such as mileage and fuel report, invoicing, complete purchase orders, and payroll Complete Purchase orders (in absence of Manager) for vendors.

  5. Serve as a substitute driver, operate and safely drive in either good or adverse weather, road and traffic conditions while transporting passengers to school or special events. Comply with traffic regulations while operating vehicles in a safe and courteous manner in times of driver shortages.
  6. Communicate van/bus rules, safety and behavior requirements to passengers; and address improper behavior immediately while using appropriate interpersonal communication skills.

Experience and skill requirements:

High school Diploma or GED. Preference will be given to those that have experience with dispatching or routing software.
