The Department of Radiation Oncology of Fox Chase Cancer Center at Temple University hospital in Philadelphia, PA is accepting applications for a board certified or board eligible therapeutic physicist to support physics services in the department and join our dedicated team of three other PhD board certified medical physicists.

The position requires a M.Sc. or Ph.D. (preferred) in medical physics and ABR board certification or eligibility in radiation oncology physics.

The Radiation Oncology department is ACR accredited and equipped with two state-of-the-art Elekta Versa HD linear accelerators with X-ray CBCT and optical Surface IGRT capabilities, a Flexitron HDR brachytherapy unit with Oncentra planning system, a Leksell® Gamma Knife ICON™ with Gamma planning system, a GE CT simulator with 4D capabilities, and a BSD 500 hyperthermia unit. Varian Eclipse TPS is used for treatment planning and Varian Velocity is used for image registration and dose summation. Mosaiq is used for recording and verification of all types of treatments including 3D/ IMRT/VMAT treatments, stereotactic radiosurgery /therapy, Intracavitary/interstitial GYN brachytherapy, GammaTile Therapy for brain tumors and hyperthermia.

The successful candidate will provide overall physics support including routine clinical coverage, machine/ patient specific QA, SRS/SBRT treatment planning, HDR/Gamma Knife treatment planning and delivery, radiation safety and technical training, professional education and clinical-oriented research.   

Education
Bachelors Degree : Physical Science or related field (Required)
Masters Degree : Radiological Physics, Medical Physics, Biophysics or Physics (Required)
Doctorate Degree : Radiological Physics, Medical Physics, Biophysics or Physics (Preferred)

Experience
2 Years experience as a Radiation Oncology Physicist (Required)

License/Certifications
ABMP - Amer Board of Medical Physics (Preferred)
ABR - American Board of Radiology (Preferred)
