We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Paint Prep Technician to join our collision repair team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring vehicles are properly prepared for refinishing and reassembly, contributing directly to the quality and efficiency of our repair process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review repair orders thoroughly before starting work

  • Complete all paint preparation processes on vehicles

  • Sand, featheredge, and prep surfaces, blend panels, and new parts for paint

  • Prime, edge, or jam replacement parts when required

  • Block panels properly for refinishing

  • Accurately mask and spray primer coats and prepare vehicles to minimize overspray and tape lines

  • Maintain compliance with OSHA guidelines and use all required safety equipment

  • Ensure proper hazardous waste disposal

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Valid driver�s license required

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work in a high-performance, fast-paced team environment

  • Prior experience in a collision or automotive repair environment preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods

  • Frequent lifting and carrying of objects over 50 pounds

  • Repetitive motion, including kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping

  • Reaching above and below shoulder level

  • Exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, and noise in repair areas

  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including a respirator

  • Strong eye-hand coordination and depth perception required
