JOB SUMMARY:

This individual will play a key role in developing and championing Midmark’s new technologies, products and markets across the Medical, Dental and Veterinary portfolios.  They will build strategic partnerships internally with the leadership of Strategy, Business Development, Marketing, Product Engineering, IT and Clinical. This position will direct global innovation programs including technology development, business partnerships, market research, innovation strategy, and product development projects and will manage internal and external engineering, industrial design and market research efforts.  This role is expected to be on-site in the Versailles or Cincinnati, Ohio location 4 days a week.  This is not a remote position.

 

ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Lead cross-functional teams to bring differentiated technology solutions to market that address unmet customer needs
  • Develop new initiatives within Midmark to promote ideation and diversification of the early-stage projects 
  • Work with clinicians to obtain feedback on the current market or procedure challenges, to better understand unmet needs, to observe new devices and product areas
  • Grow new clinician and key opinion leader customer contacts for new product research and new product development opportunities
  • Monitor market trends, state-of-the-art technology development, along with emerging clinical needs 
  • Build customer understanding and access to the R+D team
  • Cultivate expertise in VOC research methods, rapid prototyping, and collaborative design through innovation projects 
  • Solicit new product opportunities, follow up on inquiries, site visits, and conference venues

 

SECONDARY DUTIES:

Negotiate the acquisition and launch of new technologies, products and business partnerships 

Provide data-driven analytics to support strategic initiatives and back with financial models

Manage a team that works independently with minimal supervision on unusual/complex/ambiguous activities  

Direct research and investigational learning activities related to Midmark

Track relevant competitor actions and develop an understanding of underlying competitor strategic intent

Lead partnerships with cross-functional leadership to drive the Midmark businesses into new medical markets

Provide strategic guidance to the E-team concerning medical market movements, competitor information, technology trends and Midmark business focus

Integrate consumer research, financial, marketing, operating, manufacturing and supply activities to drive business units’ strategies

Serve as an internal resource for teams developing products based on the Midmark innovation process

Interpret and evaluate data from various literature and publications, engineering, research and marketing 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science with 15+ years of related engineering or scientific experience. MBA with a focus in marketing, strategy, or technology management, preferred. 7+ years of relevant experience in business development/strategy/cross-functional product development in the healthcare industry. Experience with financial models, financial analysis, and market analysis. Experience with cross-functional, phase-gate and agile product development, preferred.

Excellent public speaker and presenter who enjoys working with diverse, cross-functional teams

PMP Certification or training in project management is preferred
