- Maintain close contact with employees and supervisors to ensure understanding of claims process and benefits integration
- Work directly with insurance provider to manage Workers’ Compensation claims.
- Work directly with local occupational health clinics and other external medical providers to facilitate appropriate medical care.
- Analyze Workers’ Compensation claims data for trends to identify areas for targeted intervention and work with administrators/supervisors to implement control strategies.
- Develop metrics and key performance measures to monitor progress of claims.
- Organize and participate in quarterly claim review meetings to understand exposure potential, compensability of claims, settlements, and legal issues.
- Maintain current knowledge of government regulations affecting workers’ compensation procedures and compliance.
- Initiate practices and policies to limit district exposure and comply with industry practices.
- Facilitate building safety committee activities and coordinate injury prevention measures.
- Perform job hazard analysis (JHA) to identify potential safety issues and work with district staff to mitigate them.
- Perform in-depth incident investigations, in conjunction with injured employee’s supervisor, including site assessments and witness interviews to determine root causes.
- Recommend immediate corrective actions to prevent similar incidents/injuries.
- Recommend long-term loss control strategies to be used district-wide to prevent similar incidents/injuries.
- Provide advice and guidance on ADA cases to employees and managers.
- Coordinate and oversee integrated WC and ADA cases.
- Facilitate accommodation resolution agreements with site managers and union officials.
- Coordinate implementation of reasonable accommodations (i.e. modified work schedules, job reassignments, equipment, facility modifications, etc.) under the ADA for employees with disabilities.
- Ensure compliance with ADA and applicable laws.
- Report statistical and financial ADA data to administration.
- Collaborate with administration, leadership and employees on ADA related cases.
- Communicate and interact with administration, leadership, managers, employees, union officials, medical providers, and vendors by composing written correspondence, holding in person meetings and by telephone.
- Maintain continuous integrated disability related (WC, ADA, FMLA) professional development by attending conferences and other professional development.
- Research ADA and other applicable laws related to individual employee disability case management.
- Facilitate the purchase of equipment, materials and supplies to ensure applicable reasonable accommodation for individual employees.
- Coordinate workplace accommodation for employees with occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Facilitate the purchase of equipment, materials and supplies to ensure reasonable accommodation for employees with injuries or disabilities.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordkeeping standard and other applicable regulations.
- Provide training to district staff on implementing reporting procedures and maintain database of injuries and illnesses.
- Evaluate injury reports for accuracy and to determine if they qualify as recordable incidents under the OSHA standard.
- Distribute injury information to employees, supervisors and administrators.
- Update, distribute and coordinate posting of required OSHA logs.
- Associates degree and minimum 2 years previous experience in worker's compensation, risk management, ADA management, insurance or related area. Or 4 years of previous experience in worker's compensation, risk management, ADA management, insurance or related area.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Safety or related field desired.
Typical working environment is an office setting.
Occasional travel between school sites or events.
Sedentary work for long periods of time.
This position may work a hybrid schedule and arranged in coordination with the HR Coordinator or Director.

Responsibilities and tasks include
Develop, implement and administer a program for managing workers’ compensation claims to support employees, manage cost, and ensure compliance.
Develop, implement and administer a risk management and loss prevention program.
Oversee Americans with Disabilities Act Program.
Develop, implement and administer an injury reporting system that ensures accurate and timely documentation of injuries and illnesses.
Perform other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.

Vision abilities required by this job include close vision to read documents and computer monitor screen.
Salary: $67,825 to $84,358 annually; see updated salary ranges MOU
Job type: Full-time, 260/261 days per year
