Merchandising Manager
The Merchandising Manager is responsible for execution of company goals and objectives either directly or through subordinates. The Merchandising Manager must understand programs and objectives that effect the sales department. This position reports to the Sales Director(s), VP’s, Branch Managers, and Ownership. The Merchandising Manager position is an exempt sales position and is not subject to overtime under the FLSA.
Primary Objectives:
- Manage and develop a team of part-time weekend merchandisers including but not limited to recruiting, training, schedules, time off requests, and management of all routes during employee absences.
- Manage account-level interaction to achieve company goals
- Maintain consistent merchandising standards (along with Point-of-Sale Management) throughout all product lines and promotional materials
- Work within operating budgets
- Execute training and performance evaluations
- Prepare and periodic execution report showing work accomplished by team and potential areas of improvement
The Merchandising Manager assumes other responsibilities as assigned by Sales Director(s), VP’s, Branch Managers, and Ownership
Development of the Merchandising Manager

Position Requirements
- Operational knowledge and grasp of in-depth sales and marketing techniques
- Effective ability to communicate orally or in written form effectively with co-management, internal and external customers
- Excellent sales presentation skills
- Broad knowledge and experience in sales and company objectives
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills
- Reasoning Ability - must demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues
- Excellent computer skills in all sales and company programs
- Enthusiastic, Team player interested in positive company growth
- Clean, valid Driver’s License for a minimum of 60 months
- Ability to work position schedule (full time, Wednesday-Sunday)
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Possess and maintain an ABC Permit (where necessary) for the purpose of peddling alcoholic products.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Associate degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing or Organizational Management is a plus

While performing the duties of this job in the office environment, the Manager is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. While performing duties of this job in the field environment, the Manager will be exposed on a regular basis to moving mechanical parts, motor vehicles and traffic. In addition, the exposure while in customer locations cannot be projected. These conditions may vary, and the Manager will receive adequate training to recognize and avoid hazards that cannot be described as expected. Noise levels will range from quiet to loud.
